Founded in 2002 by former NYC Parks Commissioner and Councilman-at-large Henry Stern, New York Civic is one of the youngest nonpartisan, nonprofit good government groups in the five boroughs. Our mission is to educate and engage the public about issues of importance to all New Yorkers.
As a public policy think tank, New York Civic has published hundreds of articles aimed at making our government more honest and efficient. Through public events, media outreach and social networking, we seek to build a community of concerned citizens motivated to change City Hall and Albany for the better.
