Founded in 2002 by former NYC Parks Commissioner and Councilman-at-large Henry Stern, New York Civic is one of the youngest nonpartisan, nonprofit good government groups in the five boroughs. Our mission is to educate and engage the public about issues of importance to all New Yorkers.

As a public policy think tank, New York Civic has published hundreds of articles aimed at making our government more honest and efficient. Had a dream last night that I was at an environmental activist camp and while on a hike by a stream we were attacked by crew-cutted Tea Party types with spears. I took one in the leg, fell in the water and nearly drowned until I was dragged to safety by Laura of Superchunk. What do you dream about?
